Here’s how it began. I started my photography journey in college while studying graphic design. Photo 1 class was film and darkroom, black and white process that required a lot of lab time. I was hooked.

The design principles I learned in graphic design reinforced my compositions in photography. After graduating, I took freelance design jobs but eventually decided to focus back on photography. Digital cameras and computer editing replaced the darkroom and film but the artistic process was still the same, just faster.

Originally, after graduating, working in the field of surfing photography and some portrait work is how i crafted the use of lighting. Using a waterproof housing, I would swim nearly everyday for 3 hours, edit and upload my photos to try to sell to the vacationing surfers. After returning home to Florida i shifted my focus to a more Surrealist style of photography as a creative outlet.

Additionally, family portraits and youth sports photography filled my spring, summer and fall schedules. In 2015, i traveled to all 50 states, focusing on capturing every state in Infrared images. It was on this trip that I pioneered my now nine year love for astrophography. In summary, this gallery represents all my phases that i never grew out of but rather grew from. I’m always shooting, always studying, always learning, a true journey.
